Iran is preparing for possible attacks in response to new threats from the United States and Israel. Iranian officials have stated that they will respond broadly to any military attack.
Analysis of the Political and Military Situation
The upcoming US midterm elections on November 3 and the Israeli elections next week have added new political dimensions to these tensions. Polls indicate that the rising energy prices due to the war with Iran have been detrimental to the Republicans led by Donald Trump. On October 8, Trump announced on social media that the US would not attack Iran before the elections and hinted at constructive negotiations with Tehran.

Planning for Military Operations
However, after the elections, Trump may feel freer to attack Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also emphasized regime change in Tehran. Reports suggest that the US and Israel have developed specific plans for a short but effective operation in Iran, targeting facilities such as nuclear sites, energy infrastructure, and missile and drone stockpiles.
Iranian officials, including Ali-Asghar Shafiee, media advisor to the President, have stated that Iran is ready to respond to any attack and that its strategy is to maintain the regime's power rather than compete with US military power. Shafiee emphasized that Iran's ability to manage crises is its strength.
Tehran has also warned neighboring countries that if they cooperate with US or Israeli military operations, their military bases and critical infrastructure will be targeted. Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has also stated that Iran is ready to give diplomacy another chance if there is strong evidence of the US's true intention to reach an agreement.
Currently, two US aircraft carrier strike groups are present in the Arabian Sea, and a third group is expected to join them by late November. Political analysts in Tehran have warned that these preparations are not limited to missiles and drones but also include internal security.
