Police in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, have discovered a cache of weapons and ammunition near a major road. This discovery occurred on Monday near a parking lot in the city of Speyer and included several rifles, shotguns, and handguns.

According to police in Ludwigshafen, this cache also included an automatic weapon, a signal gun, and several thousand rounds for various firearms. This matter has garnered significant attention, but there are still no clues as to who left these weapons and why.

German Defense Minister's Trip to the United States
In other news, Boris Pistorius, the German Defense Minister, will soon travel to the United States. During this trip, he will meet with U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin at the Pentagon. Pistorius will discuss the purchase of American-made F-35 fighter jets and plans for guided missile production for the Patriot air defense system in Germany.
This trip comes at a sensitive time as relations between Washington and Berlin are under pressure. Pistorius will also visit the Lockheed Martin factory in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday, where the first F-35 jets will be delivered to Germany.
Additionally, the German government intends to purchase Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States and has reached a preliminary agreement on this matter during the NATO summit in Ankara in July.
