Ahmad Zeidabadi, a reformist political activist, criticized the repetition of the phrase 'We do not seek war, but we are not afraid of it' by some officials. He called for clearer language regarding diplomacy and the prevention of war, addressing this issue in a post titled 'Which Solidarity Inspires More?' on his Telegram channel.

The Need for Clarity in Positions

Zeidabadi emphasized in this post that if officials truly do not seek war, they must exert all their efforts to prevent it. He pointed out that the simultaneous repetition of the phrase 'we do not seek war' alongside an emphasis on the country's defensive capabilities may create ambiguities, questioning what meaning and benefit this type of language holds.

This political activist suggested that instead of repeating such phrases, officials should focus on efforts to prevent war, utilize diplomatic capacities, and be prepared for negotiations and concessions. Zeidabadi criticized the lack of clarity in officials' positions, stressing that this approach may lead to a lack of public trust.

Emphasis on the Right to Self-Defense

Zeidabadi also wrote that if, despite diplomatic efforts, the opposing side resorts to military action again, Iran can assert its right to self-defense in accordance with international rules and laws. This highlights the importance of diplomacy and the country's defensive capabilities against threats.

He noted that utilizing diplomatic capacities can help foster solidarity and unity within society, emphasizing that officials should address these issues with greater care and clarity and avoid vague and ambiguous expressions. Zeidabadi believes that clear and explicit methods in expressing positions can help reduce tensions and create a calmer atmosphere.

Ultimately, Zeidabadi urged officials to focus on practical and diplomatic actions instead of repeating vague phrases and to express their positions with greater clarity to gain public trust.
