A 22-year-old man has been arrested as the seventh individual detained in investigations into a terror plot around the RAF Fairford airbase in the UK, on Tuesday by the country's anti-terror police. The man was arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Details of the Arrests

Previously, on Sunday, September 27, five British men were arrested on suspicion of committing an offense under the Explosive Substances Act and preparing a terrorist act. These individuals were detained after police received reports about three suspicious vehicles near the RAF Fairford airbase. Although no explosive devices were found in these vehicles, police discovered a significant amount of gasoline from them.

On Thursday, a 25-year-old British-Iranian man was also arrested on the same charges during the investigations. All six other men were later released on bail.

Investigations into Foreign Threats

Following these incidents, the Pentagon confirmed that the United States has removed all B-1 bombers from this airbase. The next day, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, told reporters that the country was aware of a "threat" that led to the relocation of the bombers.

The British anti-terror police, working with MI5 intelligence services, are investigating the "possibility of foreign government involvement" in this case. Andy Burnham, the Prime Minister of the UK, has stated that the government believes "Iran may have a role in this incident."

Investigations are ongoing, and officials are seeking further evidence to clarify the dimensions of this plot. This issue has heightened public and security concerns in the UK and may also have political and diplomatic repercussions.
