Badr Abdel Aty, the Egyptian Foreign Minister, discussed the existing tensions between the US and Iran in an interview with Al Jazeera, stating that the main issue in this regard is "the lack of trust." He believes that to resolve this matter, both sides must return to the memorandum signed in Islamabad.

The Damages of the US and Israel's War to Regional Countries

Abdel Aty further noted that Egypt is among the countries that have suffered the most from the US and Israel's war against Iran. He emphasized that the security of the Persian Gulf is an inseparable part of the national security of Egypt and other Arab countries, and thus attention to this matter is essential.

Emphasis on the Necessity of Strengthening Regional Cooperation

The Egyptian Foreign Minister also addressed the importance of peaceful solutions in Yemen and support for the rights of the Palestinian people, stating that Muscat will continue its efforts to protect shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. These remarks come as Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, emphasized the responsibility of Islamic countries to stop the genocide of the Palestinian people during a meeting with Abdel Aty on the sidelines of the eighty-first session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Araghchi also referred to the aggressions of the Zionist regime against Lebanon and Syria, stressing the necessity of strengthening coordination among regional countries, especially at the level of the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to counter security threats. He stated that Iran's enemies have not tried any path that has not failed, and the only existing solution is negotiation based on honor and justice.

The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that the Islamic Republic has always kept the path of diplomacy open and has not compromised its rights. He stated that this position is supported by many countries, and no one can accuse the Islamic Republic of not having tried the diplomatic path.
