The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), aiming to enhance its global position, is on the brink of its 31st edition. The festival's director, Jung Hansuk, stated in an interview that, given recent successes, he intends to increase the global reach and influence of this cinematic event.

Jung Hansuk noted that the Busan Festival acts as a bridge between Asian and global filmmakers. He said, "We want to make the festival a meeting point for diverse filmmakers to share their experiences and perspectives." The festival director also pointed out the challenges ahead, which include competition with other international festivals and changes in the film industry, especially in the post-pandemic era.
