Cali Menz, a key figure in the 'Make America Healthy Again' (MAHA) movement, announced on Thursday that she is resigning from her position as senior health advisor in the Trump administration.
Cali Menz's Statement
Menz said in a post on social media platform X that she is resigning with "great respect" for Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. She stated, "They outlined a vision to combat the dark and entrenched forces in Washington that profit from the sickness of Americans." Menz added, "In the past two years, more changes in policy and culture have occurred towards these goals than at any other time in history, and I know this movement has just begun."

Reasons for Resignation
Reports indicate that Menz is stepping down due to dissatisfaction with the limited progress on key issues related to the MAHA agenda, particularly in defining and regulating ultra-processed foods. She played a crucial role in coordinating the alliance between Kennedy and Trump during the 2024 election period and has supported government food programs, including efforts to persuade producers to stop using artificial colors in their products and to limit soda purchases using benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in some states.
In her media post, Menz referenced the actions taken and her efforts to reform dietary guidelines and research into psychoactive drugs, stating, "I am proud to have represented MAHA mothers in the government."
Other Departures in the Trump Administration
Menz is the latest figure to resign from the Trump administration, particularly from the Department of Health and Human Services, in the past year. In May, Dr. Marty Makary resigned as head of the Food and Drug Administration under pressure from both inside and outside the Trump administration. Last year, the White House dismissed Susan Monarez as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
In April, Trump withdrew the nomination of Dr. Casey Menz, Cali Menz's sister, for the position of U.S. Surgeon General after failing to gain sufficient support in the Senate.
