The Houthis have claimed that Saudi fighter jets targeted three telecommunications towers in the city of Taiz in southwestern Yemen. According to the Al-Masirah TV network, one citizen in the city of Abs in northwestern Yemen has been killed, and the network later reported that three children also lost their lives due to the attacks by the Yemeni government.

In Saudi Arabia, one person has been killed by shrapnel from a downed drone in the Mecca region. The country's Civil Defense Organization has also reported damage to buildings and vehicles. This is the first report of fatalities in Saudi Arabia in this round of clashes.
History and Consequences
The ceasefire between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, which was reached in 2022, collapsed in July after the Houthi group allowed an Iranian aircraft to land in Yemen's capital, Sana'a. This action has posed a serious challenge to Saudi control over Yemeni airspace. Following these tensions, the Houthis have announced that they have imposed a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia.
The Houthi group has controlled Sana'a and populous western regions of Yemen since the onset of the civil war in 2014. This group has also reported that in their recent attacks, they are seeking to control coastal areas near the Bab al-Mandab Strait, one of the most important maritime routes in the world.
