Badr Abdelatty, Egypt's Foreign Minister, called for Iran and the US to return to the Islamabad agreement and stated that his country is among those that have suffered the most from the US and Israel's war against Iran. In an interview with Al Jazeera, he said: "The security of the Gulf is an inseparable part of the national security of Egypt and Arab countries."
The Necessity of Reducing Tensions
Abdelatty further emphasized that the main issue in the tensions between the US and Iran is the "lack of trust," and resolving this issue requires collective steps to reduce tensions and adhere to the Islamabad memorandum of understanding. He also referred to the previous positions of Badr al-Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman, who wrote on X that he supports a peaceful solution in Yemen and the rights of the Palestinian people, and that Muscat will continue its efforts to protect shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran and Egypt Talks at the UN General Assembly
Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Badr Abdelatty met and discussed on Thursday, October 24, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. The Iranian Foreign Minister considered the Palestinian issue to be the greatest humanitarian and moral crisis of the contemporary world and emphasized the responsibility of all Islamic countries to stop the genocide of the Palestinian people.
Araghchi also pointed to the aggressions of the Zionist regime against Lebanon, Syria, and other countries, emphasizing the necessity of strengthening coordination among regional countries, especially at the level of the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to counter the expansionism and aggression of the Zionist regime. He said: "Our enemies have tried every path, but there is no way other than a negotiated solution based on dignity, justice, and securing the rights of the people."
Araghchi also stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is always in a superior political position because it has never closed the path of diplomacy and negotiations and has not compromised on its rights. He emphasized that only a negotiated solution can extricate enemies from the deadlock, and this position is supported by many countries.
