Gharibabadi stated in an interview with Al-Arabiya that Tehran is finalizing its response to the considerations and views of the American side regarding the proposal presented by Iran in New York. He emphasized that Iran's final opinion will be announced after consultations through intermediaries.
Readiness for Diplomacy and Defense
Gharibabadi further stated that Iran remains ready for diplomacy as long as the issues raised are genuine. He clarified that Iran has always welcomed diplomacy and has not shied away from dialogue with any party. According to him, Iran's readiness to defend itself and fight is no less than its readiness to negotiate.
The Necessity for the U.S. to Adhere to Commitments
The Deputy for Legal and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that continued participation in dialogues indicates Tehran's political flexibility and adherence to the diplomatic process. He also emphasized to the U.S. that it must return to fulfilling its commitments. Gharibabadi stressed that Tehran has not violated any of its commitments and that Washington has not fulfilled its obligations under the Islamabad agreement.
Gharibabadi specifically stated that as long as the American side has completely disregarded all its commitments, Iran should not be expected to show more flexibility in this regard. He called for compensatory steps from the U.S. in this matter.
