According to Andreas Rees, chief economist at UniCredit Bank in Germany, the price of beer at the Oktoberfest has increased by about 400% since then, while consumer prices in Germany have generally increased by about 12% during the same period.

Price Differences This Year
The increase in beer prices this year compared to last year is 2.4%, which is less than the projected overall inflation rate in Germany, approaching 3%. According to Rees, the price of beer at Oktoberfest is influenced by factors such as harvesting costs, energy prices, wages, and security expenses. He also noted that this year, the prices of some raw materials like hops and barley have positively impacted the final beer price due to price reductions or stabilization.
The Oktoberfest is recognized as the largest folk festival in the world. At this festival, locals and tourists wear traditional Bavarian clothing such as lederhosen and dirndls. This festival dates back to 1810 and is held in the Theresienwiese, named after Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen.
This year's Oktoberfest will begin on Saturday, and it is expected to attract between 6 to 7 million visitors. The opening ceremony will commence with the tapping of the first beer barrel by the Mayor of Munich, officially marking the start of the festival.
