Bronze Medal in Mixed Martial Arts
In mixed martial arts, Suchika Trial won a bronze medal in the women's 60 kg category. This athlete faced a close fight against Hoi Hoon Teo from Singapore and earned this medal after the judges' decision. Trial cried after the final announcement due to the closeness of the result.
These medals were won while India had also secured two silver medals in the women's 10-meter air rifle competition the previous day. Thus, India's total medal count in this event reached six, reflecting the strong performance of the country's athletes.
Weather Warnings in Kerala
While Indian athletes are winning medals in Japan, issues have arisen in the Indian state of Kerala. In this state, a severe flood occurred on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of at least five people. Authorities are searching for a sixth missing person. Floods and landslides are common in Kerala during the rainy season, which occurs from June to November.
The Chief Minister of the state, V. D. Satheesan, will soon visit the area to monitor the situation. Additionally, the India Meteorological Department has issued orange alerts for six regions in Kerala, indicating heavy rainfall in these areas.
