JR (Jean-René), the French street artist who seeks to change the world through art, covered the old bridge of Paris with beautiful fabric this summer. This project, known as La Caverne Du Pont Neuf, lasted for 13 days and transformed the bridge into a mountainous landscape. The aim of this work was to invite the residents of Paris to slow down the pace of modern and bustling life.
JR's Political Works
JR's works are also intertwined with political and social themes. One of his famous works features a large image of a real child staring from the border wall between California and Tijuana in Mexico. This piece significantly illustrates the consequences of social and political separation. In 2019, JR collaborated with prisoners to create a mural in the yard of a California prison. Now, after seven years, JR's nonprofit organization continues to teach art in about 4,000 prisons around the world.

New Installation in the Vatican
On September 14, Pope Leo XIII inaugurated JR's new installation, which made a significant wave in the Vatican Apostolic Library. This work is designed as an artistic statement about the threats posed by war and climate change to human knowledge and awareness. JR stated, "All my works, even in the harshest areas, have always been about light, people, and hope. In times like now, we need artists more than ever to remind us of our humanity."
JR's art not only addresses visual beauty but also invites reflection and contemplation on social and human issues. Through his works, he aims to convey deeper messages to society and respond to the current challenges of humanity.
