Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, on Tuesday addressed the latest status of the message exchange between Iran and the US, stating that Iran's response to US considerations regarding the proposed seven-day ceasefire plan is still under review. He emphasized that once this response is finalized, it will be communicated to the other side through intermediaries.

Readiness for Diplomacy and Defense of the Country

Gharibabadi stated that Iran continues to welcome diplomatic avenues, asserting that the demands raised in negotiations must be realistic. He also noted that Iran's readiness to defend the country and enter into war is as significant as its readiness to negotiate.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran further referred to the US views on the proposals made in New York, stating that Iran is finalizing its response. He announced that after completing consultations, the final position will be conveyed to the other side.

Challenges Ahead and Iran's Positions

The commander of the Navy of the Revolutionary Guard also criticized US actions, stating that the country has mobilized all its resources to enable a number of oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Gharibabadi considered Iran's continued participation in talks as a sign of Tehran's flexibility and commitment to a diplomatic solution, urging the US to return to its commitments.

Gharibabadi emphasized that Washington has violated its commitments under the Islamabad agreement and must take steps to rectify this action. He also noted: "Iran has not violated any of its commitments, and given that Tehran believes the US has not fully adhered to its commitments, greater flexibility from Iran cannot be expected."

New Devices and Military Options

According to a reporter from Al-Arabiya, Gharibabadi in this discussion outlined Iran's official position regarding negotiations with the US, developments in the Strait of Hormuz, and relations with regional countries. He emphasized Tehran's readiness to negotiate regarding the nuclear program and deemed any further flexibility unlikely before returning to the negotiation table.

The message exchange between Tehran and Washington through intermediaries continues, although the US position regarding some of Iran's conditions remains unclear. Gharibabadi also warned that in the event of an attack by the US or Israel, Tehran has various scenarios at its disposal and new fronts may open in the region.
