Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, during his visit to India, stated that the country has not changed its policy regarding providing early warnings about Russian missile attacks on Ukraine and that the Pentagon is not deliberately withholding air defense missiles.

Rubio's explanations about the situation in Ukraine

Rubio stated during this trip: "Nothing is being deliberately denied to Ukraine" and called reports claiming that the U.S. has not sent early warnings to Ukraine "unacceptable." He emphasized that the U.S. Department of Defense's policy regarding Ukraine has not changed.

The balance of Ukraine's requests and America's needs

Rubio also commented on Ukraine's urgent requests for Patriot air defense systems, stating that these requests must be balanced with America's needs, which is currently trying to replenish equipment due to the war against Iran, as well as the demands of other allies. He added: "Every country in the world wants air defense systems."

Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, recently accused America of delaying the delivery of air defense missiles funded by allies. Zelensky stated in a video conference that unfortunately, the Pentagon has delayed the provision of these missiles.

Zelensky also pointed out that America does not always inform Ukraine about Russian missile attacks, which are increasingly threatening lives in Ukrainian cities.

Communication issues and Zelensky's requests

Zelensky said on Monday that he raised these issues with Rubio and appreciated his willingness to help and his clear stance. He emphasized three topics: the need for air defense systems, early warnings, and the status of Starlink internet services that need improvement.

Increasing pressures on America come as former President Donald Trump is urging Kyiv to refrain from attacks on Russian oil refineries and to reach a peace agreement with Moscow. Meanwhile, Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, has traveled to Norway to discuss ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.

According to recent reports, the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine announced that last month 328 civilians were killed and over 2000 were injured, marking an 85% increase compared to September 2025.
