Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, explained the recent diplomatic process between Iran and America in an interview with the media on Saturday night, referring to the activities that began more than a month ago. These activities started with America's repeated requests for negotiations and faced a conditional response from Iran.

Iran's Conditions for Negotiation

General Rezaei stated that Iran has specified its conditions and demands before entering any discussions and has informed the American side that it should not impose its agenda. In this regard, Pakistan and Qatar acted as intermediaries, conveying America's requests, and Iran presented a list of seven conditions to the American side.

Analysis of America's Responses

After receiving Iran's seven conditions, America sent an initial response that faced a negative reaction from Tehran. Rezaei explained that America had attempted to modify some of Iran's conditions and add new topics to the agenda, which contradicted Iran's desired framework. As a result, Iran did not accept Washington's response and expressed its dissatisfaction.

Following the rejection of the initial response, mediating activities continued, and a second proposal from America was presented. This proposal had changes compared to the previous response, but still failed to meet the Islamic Republic of Iran's considerations. In particular, Iran expressed its concerns about distrust in America's behavior and commitments, emphasizing that past experiences do not allow for easy optimism regarding America's adherence.

Potential Agreements and Important Issues

In America's third response, signs of readiness to accept Iran's conditions were observed, but this change does not mean that an agreement has been finalized. One of the important issues raised by Rezaei was the Strait of Hormuz and the difference between Iran's new framework and previous agreements. In the new framework, the establishment of a joint corridor between Iran and Oman has been proposed, which requires approval from international organizations.

General Rezaei also emphasized that if negotiations regarding the nuclear file take place, the Islamic Republic of Iran will first raise its rights within the framework of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). This issue reflects Iran's strong position regarding future negotiations.
