Navin Zootshi, Chief Information Officer of Databricks, is working to facilitate internal data access for his employees and customers using artificial intelligence. He believes that this data should be accessible to the teams that work to create value for employees and customers. Zootshi says, "We have about 11,000 employees. My focus is on how I can help all of them to be creators."

The impact of Genie on data democratization
Zootshi emphasizes that his work on Genie’s data governance has helped enrich Databricks, noting that this tool has also assisted clients like Novo Nordisk, Virgin Atlantic, and Unilever. He describes this process as "democratizing data and AI." This democratization allows employees to access more data resources and use them for better decision-making.
Zootshi states that Databricks, as the "zero customer" of its products, is looking to optimize data usage, adding that the ultimate goal is to create a transparent process for accessing information. He emphasizes that Genie, as a tool to facilitate this access, can be beneficial not only for Databricks but also for other companies.
Databricks investors include companies like Salesforce, whose CEO Marc Benioff is a board member of Databricks. Zootshi points out that there is a bright future for Databricks and its customers.
