Majid Al-Ansari, the spokesperson for Qatar's Foreign Ministry, in response to security concerns regarding military movements in the region, stated that the Al Udeid Air Base has never been used for actions or attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran. These remarks come at a time when tensions in the Persian Gulf have increased following recent developments.

Diplomatic and Security Advances

Al-Ansari also referred to new dimensions of regional developments and Qatar's relations with Iran. He emphasized that the Gulf countries, while preferring diplomacy, are fully capable of defending their interests. These statements are made while Qatar is recognized as a mediator in regional crises and always emphasizes the necessity of dialogue and cooperation.

Management of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's Proposals

The spokesperson for Qatar's Foreign Ministry further referred to Iran's initiative regarding the security of the Strait of Hormuz. He said: "Iran had conveyed its proposal regarding the management of the Strait of Hormuz through mediators to the American side, but this proposal faced challenges and deadlock due to Washington's insistence on including the nuclear issue and broader demands." These statements highlight the importance of the Strait of Hormuz as a strategic point in global trade and regional security.

Iran's Frozen Assets

Al-Ansari, in another part of his remarks, referred to the issue of Iran's frozen assets. He clarified that $6 billion of Iran's financial resources is being held in Qatar based on a humanitarian channel agreement. This amount is considered one of the key incentives in the negotiations and in building mutual trust among the involved parties. Holding these assets in Qatar could be seen as a positive step towards resolving the existing crises in Iran's relations with Western countries.

Finally, Al-Ansari emphasized the necessity of cooperation and collaboration among regional countries, stating: "Any solution to regional crises must be based on regional consensus, and Qatar's current focus is on removing technical obstacles and managing field variables to advance diplomacy." These statements clearly reflect Qatar's approach to security and diplomatic issues and may serve as a model for other countries as well.
