The Russian drone that was found on the northwestern shores of Poland on Monday was identified and confirmed by judicial authorities to contain an explosive warhead with fragmentation capabilities. The drone was discovered near the shores of the town of Rusinowo and close to Jarosławiec in the Baltic Sea.
Discovery and Neutralization of the Drone
The Polish military found the drone in the sea and brought it to shore. Subsequently, military officials took steps to neutralize it, and the drone was transferred to another location for further investigation. Colonel Bartosz Okoniowski, Deputy Prosecutor of the Regional Military Prosecutor's Office in Poznań, stated at a press conference that the drone contained an explosive warhead with fragmentation and high-explosive capabilities.

Lack of Clarity on Source and Mission
Investigations have not yet officially determined where and when the drone was launched or what its mission was. According to Lieutenant Colonel Jacek Goryszewski, spokesman for the Operations Command, it is likely that the drone was driven from international waters towards Polish territorial waters.
This incident occurs as tensions between Russia and European countries are rising. On Tuesday, NATO fighter jets shot down a drone that had entered Lithuanian airspace, and a Russian destroyer fired warning shots at a Danish military helicopter.
The Polish government, particularly under Prime Minister Donald Tusk, has warned of increasing Russian activities in the future, stating that "the weeks and months ahead will be a period of very intense Russian activities." He also emphasized that "the actions of the Russian Federation are becoming a reality, and examples of these actions are getting closer to our borders."
