Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister, emphasized the importance of dignified diplomacy in defending Iran on the sidelines of the 52nd Islamic Cooperation Organization foreign ministers' meeting in Baghdad. He introduced Iraq as an important neighbor for Iran, referring to the friendly relations with Iraq, and expressed hope for Iraq's success in managing this organization.
Performance of the Islamic Cooperation Organization
Araghchi further pointed out the inadequate performance of the Islamic Cooperation Organization, stating: "Unfortunately, for many reasons that are debatable, this organization has not performed well. However, with the appointment of a new Secretary-General, who is the former Foreign Minister of Mauritania, and the transfer of the rotating presidency to Iraq, we hope this organization will gain new momentum." He expects the Islamic Cooperation Organization to play a constructive role in resolving disputes among Islamic countries.

Discussions of the meeting and Iran's positions
The Foreign Minister also referred to serious discussions regarding Yemen at this meeting, saying: "Saudi Arabia had its views, and we and other countries expressed our opinions as well. We are calling for a resolution that has not yet been finalized, but we hope fairness and balance will be maintained in this resolution." Araghchi emphasized that if these conditions are not met, the Islamic Republic of Iran cannot join this resolution.
He continued by stating: "Our conditions are completely clear and have been presented to the U.S. in the form of a 7-day plan, and they have provided their feedback, to which we are still responding." The Foreign Minister added that the 7-day plan is still on the table, and if the American side is sincere, there are specific solutions available.
Relations with Lebanon and Iran's defensive readiness
Araghchi also referred to a meeting with the Lebanese Foreign Minister, stating: "We have significant ideological differences with the current Lebanese government regarding how to resolve issues, but we agree that the relations between the two governments should be prioritized and advanced." He further added that Iran will not bow to threats and is prepared to defend itself.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that Iran is ready to cooperate in the path of diplomacy, provided it is dignified and honorable and secures the rights of the Iranian people. Araghchi stressed the necessity of dignified diplomacy and the importance of preserving the rights of the Iranian people in all negotiations.
