Senior technology executives gathered at the panel 'The Impact of Technology and Data' in New York to discuss the changes brought by technology in how their companies operate.

Consumer Experience First

Francesca Bell, CTO and Executive Vice President of Home Depot, emphasized the importance of "always relying on consumer experience" and stated that this approach has helped them respond to emerging technologies. She mentioned a new tool called 'Magic Apron' that acts as an 'AI home improvement expert' and can assist customers in finding the items they need in the store and answering product-related questions.

Innovation in Customer Experience

Fiona Tan, CTO of Wafer, also spoke about customer experience at her company and stated that technology has helped them gain a better understanding of consumer needs. She added, "Many times, people don’t know what they want and can’t describe it, so we need to provide an experience that is appealing to them."

She also emphasized the importance of hiring young individuals who can adapt to rapid technological changes, stating that younger and older generations should be brought together to benefit from each other's experiences.

Sam Dozor, CTO of Rocket, further stated that now is a good time to invest in technology, adding, "The time is now, and we all need to experience it." He referred to the expanding diversity of tasks that his employees can perform using AI, saying, "It’s great to see engineers moving towards writing product specifications and designers turning to coding."

Dozor also emphasized that Rocket has a forward-looking approach and is always thinking about what might be possible for its employees in the future. He stated, "Times are changing rapidly, and people can choose to live in the past, present, or future. We have chosen to live six months ahead."
