The Sahra Wagenknecht Coalition (BSW) has officially changed its name to the Social Justice and Economic Rationality Coalition. This name change follows the party's efforts to establish an independent identity, separate from its founder, Sahra Wagenknecht. Oliver Rohnert, the party's Secretary General, announced that the name Wagenknecht was initially used due to her popularity, but now the party has succeeded in being recognized as an independent brand.

Developments in Berlin's Political Coalitions

Meanwhile, the Left Party and the Greens, along with the Social Democratic Party (SPD) in Berlin, are set to meet on Thursday to discuss challenging issues and begin potential coalition negotiations. One of the main topics of these negotiations is the anti-Semitic allegations against the Left Party, which has recently won elections. This party has also been accused of having connections with criminal organizations.

These allegations have intensified due to the presence of the head of an Arab tribe with criminal connections and a controversial pro-Palestinian activist at a Left Party election event in the Neukölln district on September 20. The Greens and the Left have stated that reaching an agreement on these challenging issues is a "fundamental prerequisite" for starting formal coalition negotiations.

Arrest of an ISIS Suspect and Its Consequences

The Federal Police of Germany arrested a suspect of membership in the terrorist group ISIS in the Waldeck-Frankenberg area north of Frankfurt on Tuesday. This individual is now in pre-trial detention after appearing in the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe. This arrest comes at a time when Germany has faced increasing terrorist threats in recent years.

If a coalition is formed led by the Left Party in the German capital, Elif Eralp, the main candidate and co-leader of the party's parliamentary group, could be elected as the first female mayor of Berlin. This is while various parties are carefully paying attention to sensitive political and social issues and are trying to reach necessary agreements to form a stable coalition.
