Three people including a suspect were killed in a shooting at a school in South Cotabato province in the Philippines. The incident occurred on Friday at 1:30 PM local time, where two 14-year-old students, a boy and a girl, lost their lives, and the suspect was the third victim of the shooting.

Shooting Details

The local government announced that eight others were also injured in the incident, four of whom are in critical condition. The Philippine National Police stated in a statement that the incident resulted in the confirmation of three deaths and several injuries. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene at Banga National High School and worked with school officials and medical teams to assist the victims.

Ongoing Investigations

No information has yet been released regarding the motive for the shooting. In a video shared on social media, a man is seen carrying what appears to be an injured child from the school. A teacher in the video says in the local language that there were two shooters, and a student confirms that they came from outside.

This shooting is the second of its kind this year. In June, three students were killed in another shooting in Tacloban City, and in that incident, two suspects aged 14 and 15 were arrested.

School shootings in the Philippines have become increasingly concerning. Local and national officials are working to enhance security measures in schools to prevent the recurrence of such incidents. Despite these efforts, concerns about the safety of students and school staff remain.
