Wes Moore, the Governor of Maryland, accused President Donald Trump on Sunday of using the Constitution as a "suggestion box." These remarks came in the wake of the ban on coverage from CNN, Politico, and MS NOW reporters at the White House. Moore criticized Trump's behavior in an interview with Dana Bash on the "State of the Union" program, stating that he has a "real problem" with the media.
Criticism of Trump's Behavior
In this interview, Moore said: "This action indicates that he has some kind of problem with the media and cannot tolerate criticism. He is trying to silence opposing voices, and this is contrary to the principles of democracy." The Governor of Maryland emphasized that press freedom is one of the fundamental pillars of a democratic system, and any attempts to restrict it should be strongly condemned.

Consequences of Banning Journalists
The ban on reputable journalists' coverage at the White House not only damages the credibility of the Trump administration but also undermines public trust in the media. Moore stated that such behavior could create a negative environment in society where people rely on misinformation and baseless propaganda. He added that these actions could put the United States under pressure globally and present a negative image of the country's democracy.
The Governor of Maryland also pointed out that given the importance of press freedom, society must stand against such actions and allow the media to operate without fear of repression. He noted that any attempt to limit freedom of expression poses a serious threat to democracy.
