Abbas Araqchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, recently stated that his country is ready to give diplomacy another chance, provided that strong evidence of the United States' sincere willingness to build trust and achieve a fair solution is observed. He further stated that if the U.S. prefers war over diplomacy, this decision could lead to a strategic failure for the United States.

Recent Developments in War and Diplomacy

On the 235th day of the war, tensions in the region continue. Araqchi also emphasized the importance of diplomacy and reminded that Iran, due to its geographical position, has an unparalleled leverage over maritime traffic. He warned about the dangers of escalating tensions, stating that this situation could seriously jeopardize the lives of civilians and the welfare of regional countries.

The Role of the U.S. and New Sanctions

The U.S. Treasury Department has also imposed new sanctions against Iran, which include individuals, a Panamanian law firm, and shipping companies linked to Singapore and the UAE. These sanctions reflect the United States' efforts to increase pressure on Iran.

In part of his remarks, Abbas Araqchi referred to statements made by Donald Trump, the President of the United States, regarding the role of Russia and China in the Iran issue and criticized these two countries. He emphasized that Iran seeks to establish constructive relations with countries around the world and values diplomacy in this regard.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, launched a fierce attack on Iran, claiming that the country has not yet learned the lessons it should have. He also threatened the Iranian government and issued orders for its overthrow.

Other developments in the region include the status of the border crossings between Iran and Iraq, as well as the restrictions that the Iraqi government has imposed on representatives of the Houthi movement in Yemen. These actions reflect international and regional pressures on Iran.

Furthermore, Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, announced mediation efforts to reduce tensions in the region and stated that Tehran would respond to these efforts in the coming days. He also referred to proposals for opening the Strait of Hormuz.
