Donald Trump's administration reacted to concerns about the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, describing it as a conspiracy. Trump, who made these statements on his social media account 'Truth Social', stated that these concerns are part of a 'sick conspiracy'.
Response to Regulatory Requests
These remarks from Trump came after technology leaders, including Dario Amodei from 'Anthropic' and Sam Altman from 'OpenAI', called for more regulation from the government regarding artificial intelligence. In recent months, several incidents have highlighted the dangers that may arise from artificial intelligence systems.

Trump wrote in his post: 'The only control or 'protection' that artificial intelligence needs is a strong and intelligent president (with a high IQ!), and the United States has that in abundance!' He also added that his administration previously prevented 'bad or potentially bad actions' by Anthropic using this technology.
Security Concerns and Conspiracy Theorizing
The Pentagon had previously attempted to label Anthropic's models as a security threat and temporarily banned the use of one of its more advanced models. Trump continued, 'A sick conspiracy against artificial intelligence and data centers is occurring, and the only one happy about it is China.'
Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, recently warned about the unregulated development of artificial intelligence globally, stating that there is a risk of AI agents dominating the internet within six to twelve months. In response to these concerns, Microsoft has also released a specific code of conduct to ensure human oversight over artificial intelligence.
These concerns have caused a drop in the stock values of AI companies worldwide, particularly companies like Nvidia, which saw a 3.5% decrease, and SpaceX owned by Elon Musk, which dropped by 1.7%.
