Ed Sheeran, the British artist and one of the best-selling musicians in history, continues his U.S. tour amid controversies related to Macklemore's pro-Palestinian comments. This concert in Philadelphia is scheduled for Saturday, and Palestinian supporters are expected to gather at the event.

Macklemore Dropped from Tour

Macklemore, the American rapper, made pro-Palestinian remarks at the start of Ed Sheeran's "Loop" tour in New Jersey and was removed from the tour because of these comments. He stated at the concert: "One of the reasons I’m here on this tour is that I wanted to stand on these stages and say: 'Free Palestine.'" Macklemore's remarks were heavily criticized by pro-Israel supporters in the United States, leading to his removal from the tour, which sparked reactions.

Ed Sheeran's Response and Palestinian Support Groups

Ed Sheeran stated in a press release that he bears no responsibility for Macklemore's removal, as this decision was made by the tour organizer. He also said: "I am angry about the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The suffering and pain caused by both sides is a humanitarian disaster." In a statement released on Tuesday, Ed Sheeran clarified that he has personal views on this conflict but has refrained from discussing it due to his unwillingness to engage in political debates.

The Irish band "Beoga," which supported Ed Sheeran, announced that they would withdraw from the tour and expressed their support for Macklemore's message. This action reflects the political and social consequences of this controversy and has impacted Ed Sheeran's tour.

On Saturday, local groups have planned to hold a pro-Palestinian rally near the concert venue. Local police have announced that they will ensure the safety of concert attendees and local residents.

Ed Sheeran began his tour in Auckland, New Zealand in January and is set to conclude it in Mexico City in December. The artist still has plans across North and South America.
