Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, emphasized on Tuesday that his country, while maintaining readiness to defend itself and enter into war, is still committed to the diplomatic path. He noted that the issue of Iran's response to the US statements regarding the proposed 'seven-day plan' is still under review in Tehran.

Iran's Response to the US is Being Finalized

Gharibabadi stated in an interview with the 'Al-Arabi' television network that Iran is finalizing its response and intends to convey it to the other side through intermediaries as soon as it is ready. The Deputy Foreign Minister explained that the US statements regarding the proposal his country presented in New York concerning this plan are currently under review within Iran.

Iran's Readiness for Diplomacy and Defense

He added that Tehran will announce its final position through intermediaries after the consultations are concluded, emphasizing that the country remains ready to participate in the diplomatic process, provided that the demands raised are realistic. Gharibabadi stated that his country has always welcomed diplomacy and has never shied away from it or from dialogue with any supporting parties; he stressed that Iran's readiness to defend its homeland and fight is no less than its readiness to negotiate.

Continuation of Negotiations and Request from the US

Gharibabadi emphasized that Iran's continued participation in negotiations reflects the flexibility of its policy and its commitment to the diplomatic path, urging the United States to return to fulfilling its commitments. He stated that Washington has violated its commitments under the 'Islamabad Memorandum' and, emphasizing that Tehran has not violated any of its commitments, asserted that the other side must take the necessary compensatory actions.

Iran's Military Scenarios in Case of Attack

A reporter from the 'Al-Arabi' network in Tehran stated that the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran explained Tehran's official position regarding negotiations with the United States, as well as developments related to the Strait of Hormuz and relations with regional countries in an interview with this network. The reporter added that the Iranian official reiterated his country's commitment to the negotiation process and readiness to discuss the nuclear program, although he rejected any display of flexibility before returning to the negotiation table.

Gharibabadi has emphasized that Tehran has multiple scenarios at its disposal and can open new fronts in the region if faced with an attack from the US or Israel.
