Greg Stanton and other artificial intelligence researchers have warned about the serious dangers posed by this technology, especially the risk of human extinction. These warnings have recently intensified, and researchers including Jacob Coxon from Anthropic have pointed to the increasing dangers that artificial intelligence could create for humanity.
Warnings and Resignation
Jacob Coxon announced in a post on social media platform X that the dangers posed by artificial intelligence could become a reality by the end of this decade. He noted that companies are competing to develop self-improving artificial intelligence, which could rapidly reduce development cycles and make them uncontrollable. For this reason, he resigned from his job at Anthropic.

Concerns from Other Researchers and Global Actions
Geoffrey Hinton, Nobel Prize-winning physicist and one of the pioneers of artificial intelligence, has also warned about the serious consequences of advanced artificial intelligence. He left Google in 2023 to highlight the dangers of this technology, which he played a role in developing. Yoshua Bengio, another pioneer of artificial intelligence, has also called for government regulations to prevent the dangers of this technology.
In July 2026, over 1,000 employees from leading artificial intelligence companies warned in a public letter that if the competition for "superintelligence" is not subjected to stricter regulations, control over this technology may be lost. Despite these warnings, the U.S. government under Donald Trump has moved towards reducing legal barriers and accelerating the development of artificial intelligence.
Coxon criticized inappropriate processes in the development of artificial intelligence, noting that in many companies, the existing risks are not well understood. He also pointed to the dangers that artificial intelligence may pose to internet infrastructure, stating that within 6 to 12 months, artificial intelligence could potentially dominate the internet.
Meanwhile, Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, has called for coordinated reductions in development within the industry to allow more time to address risks and prevent the misuse of artificial intelligence. In this regard, Elon Musk and Sam Altman also share his views.
