Iran's Initiative for Security in the Strait of Hormuz
Araghchi provided explanations about Iran's proposed initiative to restore security to the Strait of Hormuz within 7 days and stated that the world is clearly witnessing Iran's goodwill and ongoing seriousness in using diplomacy to prevent escalation of tensions. He expressed that if enemies choose the path of military confrontation and war again, Iran's response will be much stronger and more decisive than before.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also condemned the disgraceful behavior of U.S. officials towards the Islamic Republic of Iran's delegation and noted that the entry and exit of the Iranian delegation was carried out according to the previously announced schedule. Araghchi said: "This claim from the American side is truly strange and indicates the anger of American officials at the impactful presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Consequences of Sanctions and Regional Relations
In another part of his remarks, Araghchi referred to meetings held with neighboring countries, including those in the Persian Gulf region, and emphasized Iran's decision to continue the process of building trust among regional countries. He also mentioned meetings held with European parties and reflected the Islamic Republic of Iran's positions on the necessity of a responsible and independent approach by European countries regarding issues in the West Asian region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, condemning the inhumane and illegal U.S. sanctions against Iran, emphasized that sanctions and pressure cannot undermine the Iranian people's determination to defend their rights and dignity. Araghchi ultimately stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains serious in pursuing diplomacy and finding a peaceful solution.
