Mark Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada, and Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Manchester, are getting ready to face Donald Trump, the President of the United States. The two met last week at a meeting in Strasbourg and also at a football match in the UK.
Strasbourg Meetings
Carney received a warm and enthusiastic welcome in Strasbourg. In his speech to the European Parliament, he referred to important plans, although few European representatives were present at the meeting. It seems that some representatives quickly left the session due to an old tradition.

Carney also made a short trip to the UK to watch the football match between Everton and Wolverhampton. This match is recognized as one of the major events in the football calendar, and Carney attended the game alongside Burnham.
Challenges in Confronting Trump
Carney and Burnham are known as serious critics of Trump and have been exchanging views and criticisms for some time. Trump recently insulted Burnham by calling him "the mayor of a city," and Carney is also trying to support Burnham in this political competition.
The two leaders will meet next week at the United Nations General Assembly. Although they have previously had phone calls, they have not yet met in person. This meeting could be a challenge for Burnham, as he usually starts conversations with questions like, "What is your favorite album by The Smiths?" which is unlikely to elicit an appropriate response from Trump.
While Carney is interested in music and has identified "London Calling" by The Clash as his favorite album, it seems that Trump only listens to the song "Y.M.C.A." by the Village People.
It appears that Carney is trying to strengthen his position in international arenas with this confrontation, and Burnham is joining him as a serious supporter in this endeavor.
