Nigel Farage, leader of the Reform Party of Britain, announced on Monday that the government of his party will take a close look at Britain's financial support for Ukraine. He described Ukraine as one of the most corrupt countries in the world and expressed concern that British taxpayers' money is not being spent properly.

Concerns About Corruption in Ukraine

Farage said at a press conference: “I have never said that we should not support Ukraine. But I want to take a close look to ensure that British taxpayers' money is not wasted on corruption.” He also noted that the threat posed by Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, is now greater than ever.

Britain's Financial Aid to Ukraine

According to government statistics, Britain has provided about £25 billion in aid to Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale military invasion. This includes £16 billion in military aid and £5.6 billion in civilian aid. Farage also criticized European leaders who continue to purchase large amounts of Russian petrochemicals.

In response to questions about the relationship between Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, and Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, he stated that he does not fully agree with Trump's views on Ukraine but announced that Ukraine needs to hold elections to align with Western values.

Farage referred to criticisms of his previous statements about NATO and European Union expansion, saying: “We provoked this war. Of course, it is his fault - he has used what we have done as an excuse.”

Farage also criticized immigration policies and promised to implement strict reforms in this area, including halting all asylum applications for five years and deporting individuals awaiting decisions.

In conclusion, Farage mentioned the possibility of meeting with Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Rally in France, and considering a trip to Ukraine, stating that the Reform Party is very important for restoring trust in the electoral system in the upcoming elections.
