Polish police arrested a 46-year-old man for threatening to kill Donald Tusk, the Prime Minister, and Włodzimierz Czarzasty, the Speaker of Parliament. The arrest took place on Monday in Oborniki, located in western Poland, and according to government spokesman Adam Szłapka, this is the second arrest related to threats against senior politicians in the past three days.
Details of the Charges and Consequences
The man is accused of inciting murder and insulting Tusk, Czarzasty, and an unnamed journalist from the public television network TVP Info. Katarzyna Sill-Szułczyńska, the local prosecutor, announced that he is also facing charges of insulting Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, former President of Poland Lech Wałęsa, and Krzysztof Paszyk, a member of parliament from Tusk's ruling coalition.

The suspect is specifically accused of posting messages on social media platforms Facebook and TikTok between August 3 and October 7, calling for the murder of these figures. This arrest followed the apprehension of another man on Sunday who was accused of planning an attack on Tusk and Kosiniak-Kamysz.
Attacks and Threats Against Politicians
Threats against Polish politicians have increased, especially during sensitive political periods. This situation has raised serious concerns among officials and security agencies. The case was initiated following warnings received from the Government Protection Bureau and led to an emergency meeting involving police, government protection officers, and the Internal Security Agency.
Jacek Dobrzyński, a spokesman for security services, stated that there is a high likelihood that these threats could have been carried out. However, officials have not yet established a connection between the two suspects and have not provided specific motives.
Such threats and attacks on politicians not only jeopardize their personal safety but also undermine the political stability of the country. In this context, the need for immediate and decisive action from security and judicial authorities is increasingly felt.
