The Russian airstrike on a train station in Dnipro, located in central Ukraine, left 14 dead and several injured on Thursday. Boris Filatov, the mayor of Dnipro, described the attack as "an act of genocidal warfare." According to reports from Ukraine's emergency services, the attack was carried out using a drone on the train station, where many people were waiting for trains.

Details of the Attack and Casualties

Ukraine's emergency services announced that currently 14 people are dead and at least 14 others are injured. Additionally, Russian attacks on residential areas in Kremenchuk and central Chernihiv also resulted in human casualties. In Kremenchuk, three people were killed and 15 injured, while in Chernihiv, two children lost their lives and 23 others, including a 10-month-old infant, were injured. These attacks also caused damage to homes, shops, and vehicles.

Reactions to the Attacks

Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, expressed concern over these attacks in a Facebook post and criticized the increase in Russian terrorist attacks following the easing of sanctions against some Russian oligarchs and the country's energy sector. He emphasized that Ukraine has always stressed the need for decisive and fair action from the U.S. and Europe in response to escalating tensions and called for new and stronger sanctions from the European Union, the United States, and the G7.

Petr Pavel, the President of the Czech Republic, called the attack "unjustifiable," while Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, emphasized the need for increased efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace, stating that Russia must return to the negotiating table.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the attacks were carried out in areas where Ukraine was producing drones and logistical lines for transferring weapons. Meanwhile, Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, stated that Russia had shot down more Ukrainian drones heading towards Moscow, but did not provide details on the extent of the damage caused.
