The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is taking place as world leaders discuss global conflicts and upcoming challenges. Donald Trump, the President of the United States, met with several world leaders at this session to address important international issues.

Japan's Role in Nuclear Peace

Sanae Takaichi, the conservative Prime Minister of Japan, referred to her country as a pioneer in efforts to create a world without nuclear weapons. She stated, "Japan is the only country that has faced atomic bombings during wars." In 1945, the atomic bombings by the United States on Hiroshima and Nagasaki resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of thousands, leading to health problems from radiation for survivors.

Takaichi emphasized the need to strengthen the nuclear non-proliferation treaty regime and also considered North Korea's nuclear and missile activities a serious threat to international peace and security. She also announced that Japan intends to hold an artificial intelligence safety summit in the future.

Meeting Between Zelensky and Trump on the Sidelines of the General Assembly

Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, met with Trump on the sidelines of the General Assembly session. Zelensky described this meeting as "positive and constructive" and stated, "Both the United States and Ukraine want to end this senseless war with Russia before winter." He also discussed the advancements in the production of Patriot air defense systems in Ukraine.

The negotiations between Ukraine and Russia remain stalled. The establishment of new negotiations comes as Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine approaches its fifth year. Zelensky stated, "We are ready for any kind of energy ceasefire format" if Russia agrees to this issue as well.

Macron's Positions at the General Assembly

Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, emphasized the need for different countries to develop their artificial intelligence capabilities in his speech at the General Assembly. He said, "France takes pride in having a competitive border model" and urged like-minded countries to pool their financial resources and data processing capacities.

Macron also referred to the necessity of respecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, stating, "This is a prerequisite for security not only for Palestinians but also for Israel." He called on other countries to cooperate in support of Ukraine and to create lasting peace.
