Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the leader of the Spanish opposition and head of the People's Party, warned about the border crisis in Ceuta that began on July 30 with the arrival of 80,000 people from Morocco. He described this event as the largest violation of Spain's territorial integrity in recent decades and added that this challenge affects not only Spain's southern border but also the southern border of Europe.

Feijóo stressed that the Spanish government's response to this crisis has been inadequate and reiterated this during the recent visit of the President of Ceuta to Brussels. Feijóo, referring to scenes of chaos and insecurity in Ceuta, called for immediate action from Europe. He noted that the continuation of this situation will have serious consequences and must be addressed swiftly. Feijóo also pointed out that according to the non-negotiable principle that exists among all EU member states, individuals who have entered the country illegally must be returned, and it is the responsibility of the Spanish government to expel them promptly.
He also emphasized the need to use all of Europe's diplomatic resources to strengthen relations with Morocco, stating that these relations should be based on transparency and mutual respect. According to him, this is in the interest of the entire European Union to prevent the exploitation of migration flows.
Finally, Feijóo stated that humanity should not be used as an excuse for inaction. He stressed the importance of preventing the life-threatening dangers faced by migrants and said that safer ways to reach Europe must be created. He also noted that as a candidate for the Prime Minister of Spain, he must garner the support of the European Union at this critical moment.
