The European government announced that it will soon release parts of its diesel reserves at the request of Donald Trump, the President of the United States. This decision was made due to increasing pressures on Trump domestically due to rising oil and other commodity prices.

Details of the diesel reserves release

Trump wrote on his Truth Social account: "Europe has recently agreed to release a large amount of diesel fuel that they have heavily stockpiled" and added that this process will begin "immediately." This news comes as the average price of diesel in the United States has reached $٦.٣٧ (€٥.٦٥) per gallon.

Reasons for price increases and global impacts

The increase in prices in the United States has been criticized due to the war with Iran and Trump's trade policies. Trump has repeatedly argued that these price increases are necessary to ensure that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons. He has also predicted that prices will decrease after the war ends.

Additionally, the ban on Russian exports, which has arisen due to attacks on Ukraine's refineries, has contributed to the reduction of diesel supply globally. This situation has led to a feeling of necessity for European countries to release diesel reserves.

Confirmation from the French President and international cooperation

Emmanuel Macron, the President of France and the head of the G٧, has confirmed this news and announced that the G٧ intends to release up to ١٠٠ million barrels of diesel oil within the next four months. Macron also committed to avoiding any restrictive trade measures regarding oil and energy products among allied countries.

He continued, saying: "We will closely monitor developments and are ready to adjust necessary actions if needed." This decision was made following a phone call between Macron and Trump regarding this issue.

The United States has asked France, Germany, and other European countries to release ١٠٠ million barrels of diesel within a ٢٠-day timeframe. This request comes in response to increasing pressures and concerns regarding global energy supply.
