Ismail Baqai, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responded to the claim of Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, that "Iran has missed the opportunity for an agreement several times." He emphasized: "Distorting historical facts cannot erase the reality of America's repeated breaches of agreements from the public's mind."
America's Repeated Breaches
Baqai, referring to America's repeated betrayals, including the unilateral withdrawal from the nuclear agreement in 2018, the destruction of diplomatic processes, and military aggression against Iran during negotiations, held America responsible for the existing insecurity in the region and its economic consequences in the U.S. and the world. He added: "Projection and oscillation cannot overshadow the public demand in America and the world for holding accountable those responsible for the illegal war and the crimes committed."

Iran's Response Through Intermediaries
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also responded to a question about the latest developments in Iran-U.S. negotiations, stating: "The considerations and conditions of the Islamic Republic of Iran for ending the imposed war on all fronts and restoring security to the Persian Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz have been clearly and decisively articulated, and the necessary response to the proposals from the other side will also be provided through intermediaries." He clarified: "Message exchanges (between Iran and the U.S.) are conducted through intermediaries."
Iran and Oman Agreement
Baqai discussed the diplomatic processes related to peace and security issues in the region, including commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, stating: "The importance of shipping security in the Strait of Hormuz, which has unfortunately been disrupted due to America's malice, is certainly greater for the Islamic Republic of Iran than for any other party. Accordingly, Iran, in consultation with Oman, has spared no effort to restore security to the Strait of Hormuz."
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized: "The consultation process between Iran and Oman has been progressing well, and both sides have agreed on the geographical coordinates of safe routes in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as on how to reflect the issue at the relevant international authority, which will hopefully be carried out soon."
Efforts to Strengthen Trust in the Region
Baqai, in response to a question about the possibility of a joint meeting between Iran and Oman with other Gulf countries, stated: "Iran will continue its efforts to strengthen trust and interaction among the countries of the region." He concluded by emphasizing: "Defenders of the homeland in both the diplomatic arena and the field are determined and steadfast in defending Iran's integrity and ensuring the national interests and security of our country."
