Marine Le Pen, candidate for the French presidential election from the National Rally party, stated at a press event in Paris that France can no longer financially continue its aid to Ukraine. These remarks come as she reviewed Paris's support for Kyiv in the war against Russia.

Marine Le Pen's comments on aid

Le Pen said at the meeting: "We can continue to train Ukrainian soldiers and improve their military structure, as well as provide material assistance." However, she emphasized that France can no longer provide financial aid to Ukraine, expressing regret and adding: "We unfortunately announce this matter."

Economic reasons behind the decision

This political candidate cited France's public financial situation as the main reason for this decision. She stated: "We can no longer have financial aid" and described the country's financial situation as "strange," linking it to Emmanuel Macron's presidency. She indicated that France is on the brink of a financial crisis and needs to make difficult choices.

Le Pen referred to comments made by one of the government ministers who said, "There is no longer a euro for increasing pensions," presenting this as a sign of the need to cut costs and make tough financial decisions.

Need for diplomatic solutions

The National Rally candidate also emphasized that France should use its diplomatic capacity to find a peaceful solution to this war. She referred to the start of the war in 2022 following Russia's attack on Ukraine, stating that this issue requires special attention.

Le Pen concluded by saying: "I think this is honest for [Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine], as I always transparently announce what actions I will take."
