Maya Sandu, the President of Moldova, criticized Moscow sharply on Saturday following a report of parts of Russian aerial weapons infiltrating her country's airspace. She stated that these parts had infiltrated the airspace of Moldova from five Russian aerial weapons and exploded on the country's soil.
Details of the Attacks and Consequences
Sandu wrote in her post on the social media platform X: "I condemn Russia's attack on Ukraine this morning. The war in this country is dangerously approaching Moldova." She added that Russian aerial weapons, including cruise missiles and drones, have violated Moldova's airspace and exploded on its territory.

In total, three missiles and two drones flew over Moldova between 7:45 and 8 AM, with parts of them found in the eastern regions of Hincesti, Anenii Noi, and Cahul. Police have been dispatched to secure the explosion sites, and although fires caused by the explosions have occurred, no casualties have been reported.
Impact of the Ukraine War and Security Concerns
Recent Russian attacks on Ukraine have claimed the lives of at least eight civilians and injured 83 others. Moldova, due to the full-scale Russian war in its neighborhood, has faced repeated violations of its airspace and collateral damage. Just last Wednesday, the country encountered three separate airspace violations.
Meanwhile, Lithuania closed Vilnius airport for an hour on Saturday morning due to the sighting of a dangerous object in the sky and scrambled NATO fighter jets. European countries are facing an increasing number of incidents, combined attacks, sabotage efforts, and airspace violations as tensions with Russia continue.
