Officials in Poland announced that they are investigating a potential attempt to assassinate Donald Tusk, the Prime Minister of the country, and Włodzimierz Czarzasty, the Minister of Defense. Karolina Gałka, spokesperson for the Polish Ministry of Interior, wrote in a post on social media X that Mariusz Kamiński, the Minister of Interior, and Tomasz Siemoniak, the Minister of Special Services Coordination, have ordered the implementation of security measures. She noted that these actions were taken following a "potential attempt to assassinate the Prime Minister as well as the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of National Defense."

Police officials, government protection services, and the Internal Security Agency of Poland gathered in an emergency meeting at the agency's counter-terrorism center to assess the situation. Jacek Dąbrowski, spokesperson for Siemoniak, told reporters that officials "take this matter very seriously" and emphasized the importance of security against increasing threats.

Dąbrowski also stated: "Every month, every year, more alarming threats and messages reach the police. In this case, we are talking about a strong possibility that these threats may have been acted upon."
