Poland confirmed its support for Ukraine following a Russian drone attack that resulted in the destruction of a gas station and the locomotive of a passenger train near the Ukrainian border. This attack occurred on Sunday morning near the Dorohusk-Yahodyn border crossing and prompted an immediate response from Polish officials.

Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Poland, stated in an interview with a private network: "Poland's borders, like those previously in Moldova and Romania, are being targeted to prevent other countries from supporting Ukraine." He added that if Ukraine fails, Poland's security situation will also be severely affected.
The Polish government, especially following these attacks, has been reviewing its security measures. Donald Tusk, the Prime Minister, met with ministers responsible for national security on Monday and stated that these meetings were held to strengthen border security.
Serious Support Announcement for Ukraine
Radosław Sikorski, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, also emphasized that his country would respond seriously but non-provocatively to the escalating tensions from Russia. He said: "We must be prepared to provide a coordinated response to these threats." Tusk also spoke in a special meeting about Poland's readiness to cooperate with its allies in Europe.
The Russian drone attacks on the passenger train on the Kyiv-Warsaw line occurred while several prominent figures, including former Prime Ministers of Sweden and the UK, were on board. Fortunately, all passengers and crew were evacuated in time.
Despite rising concerns, the Polish government continues to emphasize its commitment to supporting Ukraine.
